The Three Rotary Ceilidh

The annual event was held ths year on Dec 8th at the Dewar's Centre. The organisation was excellent, food was good, the wine flowed and the Ceilidh band kept us going until the small hours. Unfortunately no pictures are available but undoubtably the highlight of the evening was our own Frank Muirden winning the spot dance prize with an impromptu "Can-Can".

Watch out, Moulin Rouge, if Frank's in town! His bright red tie and socks, not to mention his high kicking style, added a touch of authenticity!

The Christmas Party

Much fun was had by all. Eddie and Lorna had prepared an excellent meal, the wine and drinks were on the table and the whole evening was "gezellig". Sorry about the Dutch, there's no English or Scottish word equivalent, but ask Eva Smart what it means. It's nice though!

The highlight was undoubtedly Roger Quick's virtuoso performance on the keyboard, playing carols in many different composer styles from Sibelius to Satie, Chopin to Scott Joplin. Give him your telephone number and he will turn that into a tune too. Ring-tone merchants - take care!

Donald Macdonald in fine Christmas form presented Frank with a nicely crafted model bogie made from wine corks. This was in recognition of Frank's sterling efforts in organising the Bogie Race.....to be held in June 2007.. if you didn't already know!

Mike and Jane were delighted to win the Hamper, kindly prepared by Eva Smart and to nominate MacMillan Nurses as their charity of choice. The proceeds from the raffle, approximately £300, will be donated.

Douglas handing over the Raffle money to Bob!

The essential finale to the evening was the Carol singing. The Chatters Honourable Mention (CHM) goes to ..... Bob, Michael, Douglas and Sue for showing how!
