GAVEL.
We have played both our Gavel Fixtures against the Perth Club where I
believe an enjoyable night was had and our Team feasted on Stovies after
recording a win, which received Local Coverage in the Perthshire Advertiser
( Frank was prominent with his Pint of Lager). This was on Thursday 11th
January and Gillian Scored that was a Goal at Table Soccer much to the
delight of her teamate John Steven.

On to the next Gavel Night, Tuesday 23rd jan. when we entertained
Claverhouse at the Royal George. Four of their Team joined us for our Burns
Supper and we must have still been in the "Rabbie Mode" as we got off to a
terrible start losing 3 out of the 4 first games. We struggled therafter and
managed to close the score to 15-17 at the end to a cock-a hoop Claverhouse
who had some REAL VETERAN players.
The result of the this mini triangle is that each Team has 1 Win and 1 Loss.
Therefore it over to the Gavel Organiser, Bobby Watson to decide who
advances to the next round. We suggested he puts the 3 team names in the hat
and whoever is drawn goes through. We shall see if we are LUCKY!
PERTHSHIRE ROTARY CURLING LEAGUE.
Perth Kinnoull had a narrow but merited win recently against Pitlochry 6-5
with Kevin Fearn, Skip. Colin Moreland 3rd., Ian Stevenson 2nd and Douglas
Barr, Lead.
It was nice to see Douglas back on the Ice, he has lost none of his
enthusiasm. We have our Final 2 fixtures in this League on Tuesday 6th and
Wednesday 7th February, against Crieff and the re-arranged game against
Stirling. We are still in the mix to retain our Title.
