In the absence of the Sports Convenor George Delgaty (sunning himself in Venice) Frank was asked to deputise. A strong team from our Club travelled to the Invercarse Hotel, Dundee for a meet and showdown with Dundee, Camperdown. Good fellowship was had whereby the team experienced a most interesting historic talk on the 9 Trades of Dundee. Then the jackets came off, Club Sweaters put on as we got down to some serious gavelling.

SVP John Sheddon ably captained the team he was paired with Ian Stevenson; Michael Thomson with Jim Todd; Iain Brown with John Cormack and Frank with John Steven. The four games played consisted of miniature curling; putting; jenga and connect 4. Must say our golfers in the team were off form .......... expected the Blairgowrie members to have scored much higher!!!! Guess who has the "steadiest hands in the Club" when playing Jenga? Answer: Iain Brown (all those years of dispensing and orange juice/water)! The curlers well they tried but the rink proved too fast as the stones rolled off the ends!!! Connect 4 on the other hand proved easy for some and for SVP John he missed an obvious opportunity - easy when you are observing!

After close encounters the result ended in a DRAW. After the game we retired, not to the bar but to a sit down supper with our entertaining hosts.

We were all intrigued by Dundee, Camperdown's Banner that hung behind the President's Chair and felt that our Club could derive benefit based on our Kinnoull logo - food for thought President Amanda/Council.

Could Bill Smith in his capacity as Attendance Officer please note the team's names/away visit to another Club - thanks.

For our new members who have not gavelled before -- highly recommend as its a good way to get to know not only the Kinnoull members but Rotarians from other Clubs.
