Preparations for the M'Gonagall evening on October 28th are progressing well. It promises to be a great evening with professional entertainment, good food, good wine and lots of fun. Your Committee are working hard. Maximum numbers are 120, so don't leave it too late to book...you risk missing a memorable event!!

Youth & Vocational Committee

From Janet Simpson

The Youth and Vocation Committee met on 24 July but unfortunately I missed the deadline for the last copy of Chatters (and nearly missed this one too!).

We are planning to send disadvantaged children (as many as the budget will allow) to the Scottish Field Studies Centre at Kindrogan in the spring/early summer of 2007 and give both RYLA and Challenge Enterprise a miss this year.

We shall again do the mock interviews at Strathallan We are waiting to hear of a youngster who would benefit from a Sportsaid Grant

The Chairman of Perth Art Club has indicated that the club would be keen to work with us on a Young Artist Competition.

A cheque for £250 was sent to the Prince's European Programme (Scotland) to assist with a project to take a group of unemployed 18 - 25 year olds from this area to Kyustendil in Bulgaria to renovate and repair the United Children's complex and to run workshops for the children. It is hoped that one of the officers from Tayside Fire and Rescue seconded to the Trust will come and speak to the Club about the project at a later date.
