Hugh Wark who spoke to us this evening about the “"Borders Railway" pictured here with host and Club Secretary Ian Stevenson.  

His presentation was very absorbing and informative, illustrated with many stunning aerial pictures of the line’s progress up to its completion.

Hugh is a recently retired Chartered Civil Engineer who has worked for his entire career in railways.  Recent years have seen him responsible for the project management of the West Coast Route modernisation in Scotland, the re-opening of the Airdrie-Bathgate line, and finally the Borders Railway.
