Luncarty School ShelterBox

Luncarty Primary School was recently doing a class project on disaster and world conflict, which looked into what aid is available to people in emergency situations. To help them with their research, the Rotary Club of Perth Kinnoull brought a ‘ShelterBox’ to the school. It gave the children hands on experience of what basic provisions are needed by disaster victims. As a result the children undertook various fundraising events and collected the fantastic amount of £591.90. It meant that the school could purchase a fully equipped ShelterBox, which pupils will be able to track to see where it is sent. Rotary Club Of Perth Kinnoull members were so impressed by the enthusiasm shown by Luncarty Primary School that it purchased an additional box - so now two kits are going out. Yesterday Tom Laurie, international convenor of Rotary Club of Perth Kinnoull visited the school to collect the money raised and show pupils inside the life-saving supply chests.
