Club of Perth Kinnoull Young Artists Competition 2010

The seven secondary schools in the area were invited to participate, however only four took up our invitation - Perth Grammar, Perth Academy, Kilgraston and Strathallan. Judging, by a panel of three professional artists provided by Perth Art Association, took place at Strathallan last Wednesday.  No advantage was given to Strathallan as we carried out the display of the entries, with no indication being given to the judges of where they originated.

In the S1 to S3 section the winners were - First - Robyn Sommerville from Strathallan and Jamie-Lee Lynch from Perth Grammar.

In the S4 to S6 category the winners were - First - Anna Olafsson from Strathallan, Second - Lauren Smollett from Perth Grammar and Second Equal - Freddy Lynborg from Perth Academy. Although not strictly in the rules it was decided to include an additional £25 second prize due the inability of the judges to separate these two entries.

The winning pictures were framed by the Art Association and presented at the opening of their annual exhibition on Friday 5th November. The Club was represented by President Colin and Bob Abernethy.
