Branklyn Gardens
Alistair Chalmers, Head Gardiner who talked to us on Tuesday 15th about Perth's Branklyn Garden.
He told us of John and Dorothy Renton who developed the garden with the help of seed collections from famous plant hunters and is now described as one of the finest two acres of private garden in Scotland.
The garden is predominantly a collection of plants from China, Tibet, Bhutan and the Himalayas. It also holds the national collections of Cassiope, Mylnefield Lilies and Rhododendron taliense as well as the breath-taking Himalayan poppies, Meconopsis.
A visit to this impressive and outstanding local garden is highly recommended.
