A new Rotary year

Presidential Handover

Retiring President Ian Baird (pictured right) handed over to incoming President Steve Blackett, in the presence of Alistair Spowage Assistant Governor Area 7.

Ian thanked the members of the club for giving him the opportunity to be President and for their help and support during his year in office. He spoke of some of the highlights during his year which included:

     Increased membership and attendance

     Fellowship - Car Treasure Hunt, Theatre Trip, Visit to Tunnock's factory

     PR and Media - strong promotion in local press

     Community - Kids Out, Go4Gold etc.

     International & Foundation - 7 worldwide charities benefitting to the tune of over £6,000. ShelterBox support

     Youth Service - Greatly improved links with state schools in partnership with the two other Perth Clubs.  Delighted with record entry of over 100 paintings for the Young Artists Competition

     Ways & Means - record year for Calendar sales, Am/Am Golf, President's Dinner, Quiz Night and Tayside Challenge Cycle Sportive

     Donations this year - Over £34,000  to 56 different organisations and individuals

Finally, Ian thanked council members and all other club members for making these impressive achievements possible, and wished the Incoming President all the very best for the coming year.
